I’m Sonia, the founder of MIRAI. I’m originally from Russia and have been tattooing for over 7 years. I grew up in Saint Petersburg, a city full of museums and culture, surrounded by art, and I think that’s where my love for classical painting comes from. I work in micro-realism and fine line, and detail is everything to me. I love tattooing painting reproductions, animals and everyday objects. Almost any subject can become micro-realism - what makes it yours is the style and the level of detail. Lately I’m most inspired by color. I started oil painting, and it deepened my love for color so much that it now shapes a lot of my tattoo work. I also love creating larger pieces that combine micro-realism with geometry and follow the natural flow of the body.
